Goals for 2009-10 Board of Trustees

At our June 2009 retreat, Board members adopted the following Board priority for the coming year:

The UUSS Board priority for 2009-10 is to oversee and support the goals, objectives and action plans stated in Building the Future: A Five Year Plan that was approved by members at our May 2009 Congregational Meeting.

We identified next steps for the Board to take in moving the goals forward.

Goal 1: Develop, approve and begin to implement an environmentally friendly master plan for UUSS property, including all buildings and grounds

Officially appoint the Building and Grounds strategic planning task force, whose first charge is to develop a strategy for creating a master plan. David Navarro will be the Board liaison to this task force.

Goal 2: Deepen our Ministry to Children and Families

Appoint a Family/Intergenerational task force to assist and support the Family Minister, related committees and staff in deepening our ministry to children and families. Alice Lopes, Carrie Cornwell and Lisa Malkin will be Board liaisons to this task force.

Goal 3: Strengthen our Connection with and Support of New and Existing Members

Appoint a Connections task force to assist and support the newly hired Ministerial Intern, whose work will include an emphasis on member connections, as well as other staff and related committees involved in this goal. Kathryn Canan and John Abbott will be the Board liaisons to this task force.
