The Unitarian Universalist Society of Sacramento is a “Welcoming Congregation”. This voluntary program was developed by the Unitarian Universalist Association (UUA) for congregations desiring to become more inclusive towards lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) people. The program features a series of workshops designed to reduce prejudice by increase understanding and acceptance among people of different sexual orientations. Some of the workshop titles include "What We Know and How We Learned It", "Gender Socialization and Homophobia" and "How Homophobia Hurts Us All".
UUSS has an active chapter in Interweave Continental, the Unitarian Universalist organization working to end discrimination against people based on their sexual orientation and gender identity. Our Interweave Chapter sponsors:
