Befriending the Mind-Heart: Listening to Self
Befriending the Mind-Heart: Listening to Self
by Rev. Doug Kraft, Minister Emeritus
Unitarian Universalist Society of Sacramento

The sense of self is a traveling companion. Who or what we really are is completely mysterious. But we all have a wandering buddy we hang out with and call “me.” If we listen deeply to this self-sense and respond to it with wisdom and kindness, our lives are enriched. And it makes it easier to listen deeply and respond wisely to these chaotic time in which we live. This morning we’ll explore three practices that work together to enrich our lives: turning toward whatever life brings along, relaxing into difficulties, and savoring any peace or well-being that arise.
Rev. Doug is a meditation teacher and was our lead minister at UUSS for 13 years; his books are in the UUSS Bookstore. Doug and Erika Kraft live near the American River with their cat.
Our fall Congregational Meeting will start at 12:30 in the Zoom space. All are welcome to attend but we need a quorum of voting Members to conduct business.
