The Lenten season recalls day after day of doubt and loneliness in the life of Jesus the healer and prophet.  He wandered in the desert, discouraged about his calling to practice love and justice.  He had compassion fatigue.  Sometimes, today’s world seems even more full of suffering, misunderstanding, and injustice than it was in those days.  As people of deep values, let’s consider how we might keep our hearts open and our spirits alive.
