Sept. 8 is Homecoming Sunday at UUSS, when we launch a new church year. Our Family Ministry Team hosts a BBQ after the service (outside in the area between the Education Building and the Labyrinth), and we’ll have a water slide for the kids.
Our all-ages worship service features our Water Communion ritual, when you are invited to bring water that represents an important place, activity, insight or source of spiritual strength from the summer months. We bring our jars or bottles forward and mingle the waters together. (We’ll have vessels of water in case you didn’t know to collect water during the summer.)
Candles of Celebration and Sorrow– before the service on the 2nd Sunday of every month, you are invited to come forward and light a candle on a table on the chancel/stage. If you would like your item of sorrow, celebration or gratitude to be included in my pastoral prayer later in the service, please fill out a prayer card, legibly. You can find cards on the table next to the candle table. If you can’t be here you can send me a direct email with your brief request.
