What to Do When Your Child Worries Too Much?
Did you know there’s a UUSS member who’s an expert in childhood anxiety? Someone who has been on The Today Show, given a TEDx talk seen by over a million people, and written books for kids that have been translated into 23 languages? Our very own (Dr.) Dawn Huebner has offered to come talk to the parents, grandparents, and educators among us, anyone who knows and cares about a child struggling with worry.
In this 90-minute special event, you will hear the latest thinking about childhood anxiety, what causes it and, importantly, what to do about it. The focus will be on children ages 12 and under, and there will be ample time for questions. Dawn has donated a set of her most recent series – Dr. Dawn’s Mini Books About Mighty Fears – to the UUSS RE library. She is donating a second set that will be raffled off at this event (6 lucky winners invited to choose one book each).
Please join us, Sunday, October 8th from 2:00 – 3:30 PM for this important conversation and Q&A. Refreshments will be provided. Childcare will be available.

This sounds great! While my grandkids seem to be doing well, you never know when life will hit them a curve ball. I would like to be ready to help them and their parents if and when they are challenged. Thanks, Dawn, for this wonderful gift to our beloved community.
Will the event be virtual or in person?
I’m so glad you’re interested, Tina! This event will be in-person.
