this Sunday, August 12, 12:00-1:30 p.m., at UUSS (light refreshments provided by UUSS Refugee Support Team)
Don’t miss a rare opportunity to meet a global expert on peace, disarmament, and international relations. Jonathan Granoff is a senior advisor to the American Bar Association’s committee on arms control and national security, a trustee of the Jane Goodall Institute, and a leader of the Nobel Peace Laureates’ annual meeting. He is also a practicing Sufi, in a mystical branch of the Islamic tradition. Having met often with the Dalai Lama and Pope Francis, he addresses the legal, ethical, and spiritual dimensions of human development and security. This month, as we mark the 73rd anniversary of the devastation of Hiroshima and Nagasaki by atomic bomb blasts, let’s consider what each of us can do politically and spiritually to promote security and peace. Stay after church for light refreshments; to request extended childcare, write Questions? See Rev. Roger.
