Silent Group Meditation–every Wednesday at 5:30 PM sharp in Classroom 6 in the education building. Come a bit early to find the room. We have anywhere from 2 to 10 folks, usually 5. No experience meditating is necessary. We gather, greet one another, hear encouraging words to practice mindfulness by noticing the breath and any other sensations, and by coming back to that awareness gently when the mind wanders, which it will! We sit for 20-22 minutes and end by 6 PM. No charge, but UUSS welcomes a freewill offering (“dana” means generosity in the tradition’s original language, Pali).
Yoga Mondays–Chair Yoga at 10:00 AM in the Sophia Fahs Classroom with Paige Labrie; chairs provided. Mat Yoga at 7:00 PM in Classroom 7/8 with Paige Labrie; if you have a mat, please bring it. Drop in fee is $10, but if you buy a two-month block it’s only $8 per session.
Choir Practice Thursdays–Join Keith Atwater and our singers from 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM in the Sophia Fahs Classroom, with fellowship and refreshments to follow. Time is running out: remaining rehearsals are April 28, May 5, May 12 and May 26 before the choir’s final offering of the year on Sunday, May 29. Contact keith [at] uuss [dot] org or post a comment.
Sunday Morning Spiritual Practices–every Sunday morning from 9:45 to 10:15 AM, before the service. Rotating schedule of leaders and spiritual practices. Some are inside, some outside. All ages welcome, but the Nursery does open at 9:30 if your little one would prefer that. See uuss.org/practices

Sunday, Dec. 6, 12:00pm to 12:45pm, Fahs Room. What is it like to care for a youth in your home? Join UUSS member Evan Correale (a foster parent of teens) and Christina Cagle from Stanford Youth Solutions to hear about the myths and fears of foster parenting—and how we find rewards in helping today’s youth. If you have ever considered foster parenting, or have done it, please come.
