Hello Advocates –
Thanks to all of you who came out for our advocate training this past Sunday. It was great to see how inspired we are to make a difference in our community and particularly for our unhoused neighbors.
The recording of the session is posted on our website for those who didn’t make it, or want to review what happened. Also on the website are the slides from the presentation for your reference.
Crystal Sanchez, President of the Sacramento Homeless Union was set to join us but was unable to. She recorded a video greeting to all of us. We will hear more from her in the future. You can find her video here.
We are fortunate to have the support of Public Health Advocates in doing this work and we will take their lead to organize for the day of action on June 14th. This will be an opportunity for us to show up as a community and raise our voices with the county.
What can you do now?
- Mark your calendars for June 14 and determine if you will call, write or show up for this action ( or do more than one!).
- Consider your own personal story about why you care about homelessness (from your notes at the training)
- Read information about the counties use of ARPA funds.
- Practice patience with the process. Our partners are working hard with community members to figure out how we can be most effective in a changing situation.
- Stay tuned from more information.
We are so excited to be launching this effort to raise our voices and are looking out on a horizon of continued engagement on a variety of important justice topics.
Thanks for joining us in this inaugural effort.
Your team,
Christine Bailey,
Bobbie Keill

That video from Krystal Sanchez was really beautiful and powerful. Thank you for sharing that!
