Where’s the Patio Cover structure? An Update

Our 150th Anniversary Gifts project includes new parking lot lighting–first a replacement of two existing rows of lights and then an installation of an extra row of light poles (and lights). Done!
The project also includes a new permanent Patio Cover outside our Main Hall and Welcome Hall, to enable us to have events outside and be shielded from the hot sun on warm Sundays and to stay dry on rainy ones. This will reduce crowding during coffee hour and expand our options for activities every day of the week. We also will furnish the patio so we have a place to sit and connect (and eat) under the shade of the cover. In donations to date, we are only $62,000 away from reaching our goal to fund this addition!
BUT WHERE IS THE PATIO COVER?
The patio cover plans are at the County Commercial Plan Check Department. They have asked for additional information regarding ADA and sidewalks which we have given them. Now we wait for approval.
The design for the Patio Cover has been complex due our main building’s unusual shape, differing roof-line heights, and patio size (2100 sf). The APMC (Administration and Property Management Committee at UUSS) is the lead on this project and has worked diligently with the contractor to arrive at a practical, usable design with a solid structure, albeit the tweaks in design has slowed the progress, but APMC and the engineer believe we have a design that is usable and strong.
Next is to get approval from the County Planning Department, then CW Designs can order the materials. Physical construction should take about three weeks maximum. Thank you for your patience.
