Monthly Leadership Update to the Congregation

The UUSS volunteers serving in leadership positions want to keep the congregation updated about current and upcoming conversations. In this monthly message you will find updates from your Board of Trustees, Program Council, and occasionally from the Nominating Committee and Endowment Trust.

The UUSS Board, along with the UUSS leadership team, want to celebrate our 2023/24 church year successes and thank all those who made them possible.

• Navigating consecutive sabbaticals taken by both our ministers
• Nurturing our Ministerial Intern
• Approving and conducting a solar panel fundraising campaign with donations currently totaling $49,535
• Approving and conducting a campaign to revitalize the “Meadow”
• Conducting a Stewardship Campaign netting the highest pledge increase of 13% over the previous year
• Implementing a Caring Committee to address emergent needs of UUSS congregants

Program Council Leaders: The Program Council selected Sean Fountain and Jon Peterson to as Co-chairs for the 2024/25 church year.

Interconnection: That’s the theme for the upcoming Activity Fair on September 8th. Mark your calendars and plan on attending this wonderful event put on by our Program Council.

Your elected Board of Trustees meets monthly. Our next meeting will be Thursday, August 22nd, 6:30 pm on Zoom and in the library. You are welcome to join us by accessing the same Zoom link as the Sunday morning services. The Board’s role is to oversee issues of UUSS finances, facilities, personnel and long-range planning; it makes decisions on policies rather than management decisions.
