Your elected Board of Trustees meets monthly.  Our next meeting will be on Thursday, March 24, at 7 PM on Zoom.  You are welcome to join us by accessing the same Zoom link as the Sunday morning services.  We think it is very important to keep the congregation updated about current and upcoming conversations.

RECENT WORK

Susan Davis-James was appointed by the Board as At-Large member to serve for the remainder of this term, through June 30, 2022.  Susan fills a vacancy created with the naming of Denis Edgren as President and David Harlow as Vice President, as we continue to adjust to, and honor, the passing of our beloved President Tonie Darling.  Please join us in welcoming Susan to the Board.  We look forward to working with her.

The Treasurer’s Report was reviewed by the Board.  The Congregation’s finances continue to be sound for this fiscal year.  However, our expenses have been lower due to the pandemic, and we were the recipients of a Federal PPP grant, thus providing a financial cushion.  Next year could be more challenging.

COMING UP:  INVITATIONS AND REMINDERS

As mentioned in our last update, the March 24 Board meeting will be addressing our budget for upcoming fiscal year 2022/2023 that starts on July 1, 2022 and goes through June 30, 2023.  The proposed budget will be presented at our May Congregational meeting.  In developing the budget proposal, we will focus on priorities that include:  improving compensation levels for our staff, addressing our program funding needs, and continuing to implement our Strategic Plan.  We invite you to offer your thoughts on budget priorities for our church by sending them to us at .

We want to remind everyone that the Program Council has created an on-line tool that simplifies the process of recruiting and volunteering for activities sponsored by the church.  Just go to the UUSS home page and click on “Get Connected.”  Thank you again to the Program Council for developing this helpful tool.

The Stewardship program co-chairs will be asking members of the congregation to make their annual pledges for fiscal year 2022/2023 during this year’s pledge drive, which begins on March 27.  The Board and Program Council will be asked to pledge at our March meetings.  We hope you, the congregation members, will join us in pledging generously to help meet our financial goals.  Please be thinking about your pledge contribution.  Thank you.

The UUA General Assembly 2022 meeting will be held virtually and in person in Portland, Oregon, from June 22 to 26.  In-person and virtual registrations are now open.  See the UUA web site for additional information and fees.
