May 25 Board Meeting Update

Your elected Board of Trustees meets monthly. Our next meeting will be Thursday, June 22, 6:30 pm on Zoom. You are welcome to join us by accessing the same Zoom link as the Sunday morning services. The agenda will be posted in advance of each meeting.
We think it is important to keep the congregation updated about current and upcoming conversations. The Board’s role is to oversee issues of UUSS finances, facilities, personnel and long-range planning; it makes decisions on policies rather than management decisions. You can find more information about the board and read the minutes and treasurer’s report here uuss.org/board
Updates:
Congregational meeting
Thank you to all members who attended the May 21 congregational meeting, assuring that we had a quorum to approve the budget for the coming year (found here: uuss.org/board/budgets ) and to elect our slate of candidates:
Endowment Trust: Randy Webb
Program Council: Sean Fountain, Rachel Nickel, and Beth TenPas
Nominating Committee: Christopher Jensen, Naomi Keller, and Robin Visel
Board of Trustees: Member at large—Susan Davis-James and Leanna Pierson; Board Secretary—Lisa Dahlquist; Board President—Anara Guard.
In response to several questions that were raised during the meeting, the Board would very much like to provide greater salary increases to staff. To do so, we rely on the generous pledges that the congregation makes. Please consider increasing your pledge as you are able.
Rental income is on the rise and we find that word of mouth is the best way to alert your friends and neighbors to renting our beautiful building for weddings, concerts, memorials, and more. Feel free to direct them to the Facilities Rentals section of our website under the WHO WE ARE tab.
Coming Up: General Assembly
The annual gathering of Unitarian-Universalists will take place June 21-25 in Pittsburgh and online. Our eight delegates will attend virtual sessions and represent UUSS: Andy Cramer; Sean Fountain; Karen Gunderson; Meg Gunderson; Mary Howard; Rich Howard; Marlaina Rodriguez; and Beth TenPas. Reverend Roger will attend in person as one of our ministerial delegates, and also attend the UU Ministers Association and Liberal Religious Educators Association programs. Read the Weekly Message to learn more about the General Assembly schedule and opportunities for you to join virtual watch parties.
Opportunities
The Social Justice Coordinating Council is now hosting a table before and after the service each Sunday. Please stop by to learn about ways you can be involved.
