The UUSS volunteers serving in leadership positions want to keep the congregation updated about current and upcoming conversations. In this monthly message you will find updates from your Board of Trustees, Program Council, and occasionally from the Nominating Committee and Endowment Trust.

Multiple Candidate Election: The Nominating Committee procedure for multiple candidate election process was presented to the Board. The Board supported the procedures unanimously. The Board would also like to extend gratitude to the Nominating Committee for all their efforts in this upcoming election and the year round work they are doing to strengthen UUSS’ candidate election process.

UUSS Budget: The Board voted to recommend to the congregation the year 2024/2025 budget as recommended by the Finance Committee.

Congregational Meeting, May 19: The Board urges all members to attend the congregational meeting either in-person or on Zoom right after Sunday service. A quorum of members is needed as we vote on next year’s budget and church officers. Your vote is very important in keeping all the programs we love at UUSS continue to function. Friends and visitors are welcome to attend and observe. Look for your Congregational Meeting Packet on Wednesday, with pictures and profiles of nominees for election, the proposed budget, draft minutes from the last meeting, and an agenda.

News from the Treasurer: Our Treasurer, Victoria, will be holding a drop-in information session on the proposed Fiscal Year 2024-2025 budget tomorrow, Wednesday, May 15, on Zoom from 6:00pm – 7:00 pm. Click here to join Zoom.

Celebrating Doug Kraft: There will be a reception to honor Minister Emeritus Doug Kraft on the 50th anniversary of his ordination to the UU ministry. The reception will be on May 26, after church, in the Fahs Room.

UUSS All Ages Camp: Sign-ups are coming along nicely. If you want to sign up to attend all or some days at Camp Norge on June 28 – 30, 2024. Click Here to Register!

Solar Panel Installation: Due to the hard work of our volunteers and the solar installer company UUSS hired, the roof-top solar installation will start in late May or in June. And there will be a dedication ceremony for the solar installation and the meadow project on Sunday, July 21.

Ministers: The Board meets monthly, joined by Rev. Roger and Ministerial Intern Rosemary Dodd and looks forward to Rev. Lucy’s return from her sabbatical on June 6.

Rent out our beautiful facilities: We have wonderful facilities that are available for rental for weddings, parties, family reunions, work events, etc. Consider renting our many spaces (indoor and outdoor, different sizes) for your next event and tell everybody you know about them. Rentals bring us a needed source of income to help carry out our mission. Information about rentals is here on our website. 

How to get in touch with your volunteer leaders:

• Your elected Board of Trustees meets monthly. Our next meeting will be Thursday, April 25, 6:30 pm on Zoom and in the library. You are welcome to join us by accessing the same Zoom link as the Sunday morning services.
