Words from Susan in support of our annual stewardship campaign!
Greetings! It was great to see you last September and celebrate your 150th anniversary as a congregation. Thank you so much for your warm hospitality.
When I travel on behalf of our wider faith, it inspires me to know that congregations like UUSS are showing so much vitality, generosity, joy and love.
At UUSS, you celebrate our shared values as you commit to growing your mission. Grounded in love, your ministries with migrants, refugee families and homeless neighbors demonstrate your commitment to justice. Your interfaith work for racial and environmental justice and your Family Ministry programs reflect the love, courage and creativity called for in this defining moment.
In my sermon with you I said these two things: #1) this is no time for a casual faith, no time for a casual commitment to our values, and #2) this is no time to go it alone. The vitality of our UU movement is crucial. The most important way that you can support the mission and vitality of Unitarian Universalism is through your generosity and commitment to your local congregation. It is in our congregations where people find Unitarian Universalism, and are changed, uplifted, nurtured and strengthened by our principles and values.
I’d like to thank every one of you for stretching to consider your financial pledge toward your congregation’s mission. Grounded in love, your generosity extends our values out into the world. Thank you so much!
Susan
