Living with Dementia

Stumbled across this and thought it was fantastic. Especially point number 5: Reminisce, never say “Remember…?”
When my dad was getting worse it would drive me nuts because people would say to him, “Hey Carl, remember when….” and then just pause and wait for him to respond…he’d get so nervous like he was taking a quiz on the spot. But if you just started talking about something you remembered doing with him he’d enjoy the story even if he couldn’t recollect it but most of the time some detail of it or the whole thing would pop in his head (sans the pressure) and he could join in the conversation.
