Chalice Camp, a full day camp for children entering the first through 6th grades, is coming to UUSS July 6-10, 2020.
We are excited to offer a new Chalice Camp curriculum that responds to the realities of climate disruption and environmental degradation, that children, like all of us, are facing. Grounded in the teachings of our UU faith that promote justice, compassion and interdependence, this curriculum supports campers in honoring their feelings, cultivating resiliency, and taking action. In addition to learning accurate information about climate change and the way that it intersects with other forms of injustice, campers will hear stories about the many ways that individuals and groups are resisting climate change and creating new possibilities for a sustainable future. Held in community and immersed in the natural world, campers will be supported in expanding their toolbox of spiritual practices, tools and frameworks that can help them to stay engaged and open-hearted in the long haul.
Registration will be opening mid-March. Keep an eye on the website and other communication channels for more information.
