Generosity Update: Outreach Offerings at UUSS

Every Sunday as a community at UUSS we engage in the spiritual practice of generosity by sharing half of the offering of our non-pledge contributions with a local community partner agency–a different not-for-profit every month. (The congregation votes to choose 12 of them every year.) From the Sundays of December we were able to send $3,972 to Sacramento Food Bank and Family Services. At the Christmas Eve Candle Light Service, the offering in its entirety was designated for River City Food Bank, and we raised $1,335.
Our community partner in January 2019 was Sacramento Family Promise, to which we contributed $2,978.
We also support Family Promise as a host site, and we had 18 guests here for a week recently.
Our Community Partner for February is Black Lives Matter Sacramento. Thank you, everyone, for your generosity. It makes a difference!
