Sunday April 2 – April 23, the Main Hall will be part of a Sacramento display of a series of Loving Earth art panels. We will feature them in our April 24 service for all ages to celebrate Earth Day, and there will be activities for all ages following the service.

This press release describes this international traveling display to raise awareness, build solidarity, celebrate earth’s bounty and beauty, and evoke hope.

The UK’s Loving Earth Project to visit California this spring
In April, a beautiful exhibition of artwork from around the world will
be on display in Sacramento. The Quaker Arts Network has invited
people to create 12” x 12” fabric panels that express their love and
concern for a world endangered by environmental change.
The Loving Earth Project has helped people of all ages engage
creatively and constructively with climate change issues without
becoming overwhelmed. The exhibit also shares positive examples of
how people are taking action. Loving Earth Project has grown to
include over four hundred panels. It is now on tour in communities
around the world and was listed as one of the “best cultural events in
Scotland for COP26” [the UN Climate Change Conference.]
Whatever our starting point, our actions affect the wider
environment. We invite you to explore some of the issues and how
we might each help reduce the threats to the world we love. Young
and old, environmental experts and novices, all of us can share ideas,
skills, questions, and hopes. We can make a difference.
Selected panels from the Loving Earth Project will be on display in
Sacramento during the month of April in recognition of Earth Day
2023 and then move on to locations in Fresno and Chico.
