  One Response to “City Electrification Workshop !”

  1. Just a small clarification I believe may be necessary, from my perspective as an engineer;

    Solar and methane in your home are unrelated. The push for solar is for distributed rooftop electricity generation for the electrical grid that has existed since Sacramento electrified in 1895. Methane is used in, mostly older homes, for stoves, ovens, hot water, and air heating. The market alone has been rapidly pushing for electric appliances, electric and heat pump water heaters, and heat pump A/C systems, along with rooftop solar, totally separately from recent reports of benzene in natural gas sources (which to my knowledge did not include Sacramento natural gas). These changes are economical and practical and increasingly manufacturers are not supporting gas appliances, a shift now decades underway.

    Please arm yourself with accurate information before acting. I strongly support an all-electric home, but for practical as well as environmental reasons, that are very carefully researched. Uninformed action can be even more harmful than inaction! Learn carefully and choose intentionally!
