Greetings from your new Family Promise coordinator (Elyse Metune):

A Big Thank You Sally Wilkins for your years of dedicated leadership of our UU effort to assist families back from homelessness through our Community Partner Family Promise. I am so honored and very nervous to be taking up the torch again. With Sally’s assistance and experienced advice we will do it. Lots of things have changed at Family Promise over the years. The Big change of course is the Tiny Homes at Safe Harbor. Family Promise works very hard at keeping them in tip top shape, that is where we come in.

Our assigned week for volunteer opportunities at Family Promise/Safe Harbor Tiny homes is the week of August 11th. Opportunities range from cooking breakfast for families (this task takes place Saturday the 17th only), light gardening to assisting with house cleaning (these two tasks will take place when 3 to 4 of you are available). Please send email to  along with the day and time, that week you are available and the task you would prefer (not guaranteed). We will form groups of 3 or 4 people depending on the day and time you are available and the task you prefer (we will try to accommodate all).

Also, there is a list of needed items posted below. If you can donate any of these items please let me know as soon as possible. I will ask you to bring them to the Church on Sunday the 11th. Also you can donate directly to Family Promise here: familypromisesacramentoca.org/donate.

A Fresh Fruit basket is available for the residents especially children so they can always have a healthy snack available. The these fruit contributions are welcome:
