In the village that we visited today we met many former slaves who are now self employed. One of the women shared how she had been in debt bondage slavery for 20 years in a brick kiln. The activists from the partnering organization enabled her to get freed through community organizing and legal support. She know works independently and expressed how wonderful it is to finally be free.
