Description. Take a guided hike down wooded trails and quiet bike trails along the American River Parkway in the Sunrise Recreation Area. The hike will be on June 24, 2017 at 7:45 AM. Please let hike leader Betty know if you plan to attend.

Hike location: Take Mather Field exit off Highway 50 towards the river to Folsom Blvd. Turn right on Folsom and drive about 3 blocks to turn left on Coloma. Continue on Coloma to El Manto and turn left towards the river to Ambassador Drive. Turn right on Ambassador Drive for  several blocks to where it ends at a free parking lot. Please note: Do not continue on El Manto into the pay parking lot but follow Ambassador east to dead end and look for Betty & Lloyd.

Distance: 3-4 miles

Difficulty:  Beginner

Amenities: Restrooms at halfway point of walk.

Special features: River views and riparian trails.

What to bring: Wear hiking boots or tennis shoes. Bring water. Wear a hat and sunscreen.
