Join Taylor Lewis on a guided tour of the UC Davis Arboretum nursery and walk in the arboretum to see the extensive plant and tree collections, gardens and Putah Creek waterway. The walk will be about 3-miles on a  mostly paved route. Walk will be on Saturday, July 15 at 8 AM.

Hike location: UC Davis Arboretum, but not at the Arboretum headquarters. Directions: Take I50/I80 west and exit at Old Davis Rd. Take right at bottom of ramp onto Old Davis Rd. At the roundabout, take 2nd exit on to California Avenue. Take next left on La Rue Drive. Take left on Garrod Drive. Follow Garrod Dr. When it nears the Vet Med Teaching Hospital, one part of the road continues and dead ends in the Vet Med lot, but don’t take that part of the road – instead make a left and continue a short way on Garrod. Park on Garrod Drive and meet at the Ruth Risdon Storer Garden.

Difficulty: Easy

Amenities: Restrooms near start and at halfway point.

Special features: special tour of the nursery by the nursery manager, Taylor Lewis and a vast variety of plants and trees

Who can go? Adults, children (with adult) who can walk at up to 3 mph pace, leashed dogs (but dogs may not be able to go into nursery). Wear tennis shoes, sunscreen and hat and bring water.
