Faithful Friends Community Visitation Program
for people in immigration detention at the Yuba county Jail
in Marysville, CA.
No one should be forgotten!
Please join us for an information session where you will learn more about what Faithful Friends does. You will receive the training that will prepare you to visit with someone in detention. We will do a short introduction to our national organization and to the history of Faithful Friends in the Sacramento area. We will talk about all the aspects of a visit – how long, what to talk about, how to introduce yourself, what to bring, how to register. We will talk about what we can actually do for a detainee outside of the visit – sending books, phone calls, letter-writing. We’ll answer questions!
There are many English as well as Spanish speakers in immigration detention. There is no commitment required but we hope that you will join us to find out more. We aim to ensure that each person at Yuba County Jail is treated with dignity. We have the power to transform communities and to help protect against human rights abuses for those in detention.
We will meet
