Immigrant Day at the Capitol

There was so much energy, excitement, and activism taking place yesterday May 14 at the Immigrant Day 2018 at the Capitol. Three members of the Immigration Justice group at UUSS attended. We visited with Assembly Members and Senators highlighting some of the bills being considered that affect immigrants greatly. Health for All Adults (SB 974 and AB 2965) will help move CA closer to a health care system that works for everyone, regardless of their immigration status. Health care is a human right, not a privilege!
We were also able to connect with the many other California UU’s. Here we are in front of the Thomas Starr-King statue on the Capitol grounds.
