Chris Aguirre from the American River Parkway Foundation will tell us about their “Recreate for Health” program which focuses on bringing local youth, who may not otherwise have access to recreation, to the outdoors for positive, healthy experiences. We will discuss whether this is a program we can and would like to support in some way. This is a follow up meeting to our July event about environmental racism and the importance of helping children in impacted communities to get out to experience the natural world. Jason Fareira, Educational Ranger from CA Fish and Wildlife’s Nimbus Hatchery and our July event speaker, will join us for this discussion.
