Throughout the history of our country communities of color, tribal nations and immigrant communities have disproportionately experienced environmental burdens and related health problems.  This is true in the Sacramento region.

We will spend the afternoon exploring the causes of this inequity including racialized historical legacies and structural and institutional racism, and their effects on environmental justice community health, transportation, pollution burden, climate change impacts, food access and housing.  We will also explore ways to address the conditions created by this inequity.
