Sign up for Greenergy!  It’s a SMUD program where people voluntarily pay $3/month for 50% renewable energy or $6/month for 100%.  Signing up makes a statement to SMUD that people are willing to pay a bit more for 100% renewable AND they have to then increase their portfolio of renewable energy (they probably buy offsets to meet the immediate demand but it makes them put more renewables into play in the longer term).  You can sign up online @ www.smud.org/en/Going-Green/Get-Green-Energy/Residential  AND if you put “350 Sacramento” in the promotional code when you sign up this local climate change action group gets credit and some money to support their important work.

At UUSS in November, Professor Tom Suchanek spoke about climate change and recommended that we support 350 Sacramento.  This is a great way to do it!  And as part of our Interfaith Earth Justice work, we’re sharing this Greenergy opportunity with other Sacramento faith groups to magnify our impact.
