Mr. Stevante Clark, brother of Stephon Clark, canvassed with our Sacramento ACT team in South Sacramento today. Mr. Clark said to tell folks “If I can do it, you can do it.” (And he said to use this photo of him if it might help motivate people to turn out.) He may join us on October 20 to canvass in West Arden Arcade.
On October 20, we’ll talk with people, register voters, Get Out the Vote and hear about community concerns. We will meet at 9:00 a.m. at UUSS (2425 Sierra Blvd.) for an hour of coffee, snacks and training. We will learn about some of the environmental hazards facing the neighborhood we canvas. Gabby Trejo, Executive Director of Sacramento ACT, will teach us how to canvass, including role playing, and answer any questions. After canvassing we’ll come back to UUSS for lunch and debriefing!
You won’t have to go alone, and you don’t need to be an expert on anything. Meet people from other faith communities. Meet some of our neighbors. You will be making a difference!
