The Sacramento Area Congregations Together (Sac ACT) Environmental Justice Committee meets in the Fahs Room at UUSS on the third Tuesday of each month from 7:00 – 8:30 p.m.  At our upcoming January 16 meeting we will learn about the content and status of the Sacramento County Climate Action Plan and discuss our research meetings with Sacramento justice leaders as we work to focus our priorities and actions.

During our November meeting we discussed the intersectionality of environmental, racial, economic and cultural justice and we see this as an important principle for our future work.

Meetings are led by Gabby Trejo, Executive Director of Sac ACT and include members of other faith communities.

An added “Soup Sunday” on January 28:  to benefit the American River Parkway Foundation’s (ARPF) program, Recreate for Health, which “provides outdoor experiences and other skills-building opportunities to at-risk youth.”  Help support this program by enjoying fellowship and hearty soup on a (hopefully) rainy winter’s day!
