This week our Unitarian Universalist Association awarded to our UUSS Interfaith Earth Justice team and Sacramento ACT a $1,000 Congregation Based Community Organizing (CBCO) training grant. This is for Sac ACT to lead environmental justice organizing training including how to talk about climate change and environmental burdens in grassroots language. Sacramento ACT is a UUA-identified CBCO organization.
Our Sacramento ACT Environmental Justice fundraiser “Greening Black Churches: Why Climate Change Matters” is coming together! UUSS will co-host this event with our ACT partner South Sacramento Christian Center and Green the Church. September 7 from 1:00 – 3:30. Keynote speaker will be Rev. Dr. Ambrose Carroll co-founder of Green the Church (click for more info).
Save the date! More information soon.
For more information contact us at or come to our next Environmental Justice Committee meeting in our UUSS Library on June 5th from 7:00-8:30 p.m. Newcomer orientation @ 6:30.
