Would You Like to Help?

Did you know that the UUSS Mercy Pedal team has been picking up donated bread from area restaurants since December 2018? It’s true!

We pick up the bread every Sunday, then split it with other Mercy Pedalers in West Sac, Downtown, and with our friends at the St. Mark’s Food Closet. Then, we bring our portion back to our freezers at UUSS for pick up by our team of Pedalers. So far, only 5 of us are using the bread, but there is so much of it that we can’t use all of it as fast as we pick it up.

An example of one week’s haul: sliced sandwich loaves, biscuits, bagels, unsliced loaves, cookies, ciabatta bread, pastries and tarts, and focaccia.

Would you like to help? Reply to this post, or visit us at the Mercy Pedal table in the Welcome Hall and we can discuss how you might help us to serve our homeless friends in this important ministry.
