Dear Members, Friends, Families & Newcomers
As we settle into our third week of the “shelter in place” Rev. Roger and I are very pleased at the turnout for our online services. We had 228 computers logged into our service this last Sunday – 83 people stayed for virtual coffee hour.
In addition, many of our groups have started to meet on Zoom, including the UU Readers (discussing Montana 1948 by Larry Watson) and our political discussion group Ted’s Webb both which will meet tomorrow. Contact the group leaders if you want to join them by clicking on the group name in the sentence above. Or call the church office () and we will get you connected. Many of our committees are meeting online including the Board, Program Council, Religious Services Committee and several others. It is great that our community is finding ways to come together.
And I hope you will join us tomorrow night at 7 for our Tuesday evening worship service. Several of you have asked if this service is different from the Sunday morning service, and indeed it is. Our topic tomorrow is Coping and Hoping. There will be readings and music, stories and chances to share your thoughts and feelings. At the end we will open all the videos so that you can see and wave to each other. It sure lifted my spirits last Tuesday to see all your smiling faces. Go to uuuss.org/online to get access to the Zoom site.
I also want to encourage you to sign up for our Phone Ministry (details below). This is a chance to reach out and connect with each other.
For more connections check out our UUSS Between Sundays Facebook page where UUSS members and pledging friends can share their stories, joys, challenges and needs. If you are not part of the group then go to the page and send a friend request.
Finally Rev. Roger and I send out love to each of you. We miss you all and can’t wait till we are together again. In the meantime, don’t be shy – call or email or join us in our open house Wednesday at 7p or Friday at 10:30a. Let us know if you need anything.
Sending love to all,
Rev. Lucy
