Our 60-minute Sacramento portion of the event is dedicated to the memory of Winnie Detweiler. It will include: Setsuko Thurlow, a survivor of the Hiroshima bombing; Critical Issues Forum, a high school program in Monterey; Pat Elder, Investigative Reporter with Civilian Exposure; Patricia Hynes, Traprock Center for Peace and Justice; Goli Sahba, MD, 350 Sacramento and Sacramento Climate Coalition; recorded messages from our local elected officials: Rep. John Garamendi (D-CA-03), State Assembly Member Cecilia Aguiar-Curry (D-Winters), Mayor of Sacramento Darrell Steinberg.
It will include specific suggestions for concrete actions that all of us can take to ensure a safe and peaceful future.
Please join us as we gather to learn about and remember the bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki 75 years ago.
