A very busy Sunday at UUSS

Today we had 8 folks for the Exploring UUism class at 9:30, plus some folks in silent meditation at the same time. We had a very full service with a powerful sermon on hope by Rev. Lucy, who shortly thereafter went on vacation.
In the nursery were 12 kids and in our next-to-the-last RE Summer ArtWorks there were 18 kids working with artist Patty Taylor Gutermute and UUSS dads Taylor L. and Rene B. as they made and prepared to install stepping stones. After the service and fellowship with some good strong coffee, Miranda Massa and I introduced our teachers for this year’s two Our Whole Lives (OWL) courses, and we described this optional sexuality education program to interested parents/guardians and kids. Folks are fired up: volunteers and families alike.
At the same time in another room, Keith Atwater led part 1 of a two-part multi-media course, Meet Our Neighbors, the Sikhs. Reportedly there were 46 people. Looking forward to our Refugee Support kickoff on Friday and our special guest preacher on Sunday, Aug. 28!
