Help Get Terry Preston Moving
Posted by Dirk

As many of you know, Terry Preston suffered a serious and debilitating stroke last year. Since then he has faced his own personal transportation crises. After a prolonged convalescence, he is home. Because he is wheelchair-bound, he doesn’t have a ready means of transport to get to doctor appointments, and participate in the community.
We’re working together to raise the funds needed to get Terry a van capable of hauling him and his wheelchair around.
There will be a Spaghetti Feed Fundraiser on January 6, 2017 at UUSS.

I was very happy to see such a large and loving crowd in our sanctuary, welcome hall and kitchen for this great event for a great UU and great community leader. The food was good, and the variety of people was impressive. I’m sure we donated a good sum toward the cost of a van for Terry. Thanks to all who made this event happen.
I was Leroy’s Coming of Age mentor a few years back and before that his OWL teacher. Leroy has had great support from his parents to become the awesome young man he is now and I’d really like to see his family be able to come to UUSS more often and this van will help with that and many other things.
