We’re Halfway to Owning the “OM”

Have you seen this beautiful sculpture outside our Welcome Hall? We need 38 people to donate $100 each to make to keep this sculpture our own – and we have 19 donations! Lets keep up the energy and commitment. Any level of donation is welcome. Look for the table in the welcome hall after church on Sunday. We take cash, checks and cards! You can also mail in a check, or stop in at the office. Thanks for your generosity.
“OM” is thought to be the primordial sound. Here it is projected as a three-dimensional sculpture of steel and copper shown at the Unitarian Universalist Society of Sacramento. It is intended to reflect peace and calm. The large empty circle offers a way through. . .connecting opposite sides. Though it is asymmetrical, it suggests everything is in balance. The three rods soar upward seeking higher ground. The horizontal curved elements keep a lid on things. It gives pause for reflection, for finding order in the midst of chaos. We are compelled to exercise patience and compassion while we seek personal and collective solutions.
