Are you interested in being a delegate for the 2019 UU General Assembly? This annual conference for UUs is being held in Spokane this year June 19-23. Delegates from UU congregations do the business of our larger UU association, including votes on UUA leadership and public-witness actions and a Statement of Conscience. UUSS has the opportunity to select 9 voting delegates from our congregation. The expectations of delegates are outlined at https://www.uua.org/ga/congregations/delegates. If you would like to attend in the role of a voting delegate from UUSS, contact . The website also describes an option for offsite, online voting delegates.
With music, lectures, author events, dances, and workshops for lay leaders and social activists, it’s a big event. We hear from the Rev. Susan Frederick Gray (the first woman elected as president of the UUA), the UUA Board of Trustees, and commissions and committees of the UUA. Anyone is welcome to register to attend GA, and there are special programs and identity-based groups like Young Fun (daily activities for kids), Youth Caucus, Young Adult Caucus, Black Lives of Unitarian Universalism, the International Council of Unitarians and Universalists, and theologically-distinct UU groups.
Registration is open on the above website, as well as referrals to area housing.
