Sermon Change for next Sunday, May 29–“More Precious Than Any Gem” by Rev. Kristin Schmidt and Rev. Christian Schmidt. These ministers—and parents of two little boys –are making a rare trip to California, so UUSS is taking advantage of their presence to have them preach. They serve as co-ministers in Cherry Hill, NJ.
On this Memorial Day Sunday, our Choir sings its final time before fall, and a brass quintet offers special music.
About the sermon: As UUs, we often think our ideas are the most powerful thing our faith has to offer. And yet, our congregations are no longer the only places where people can hear and live out ideas like each person’s inherent dignity and the value of human agency. Let’s consider a precious gift our faith can offer this rapidly changing world, and how allowing that gift might lead our congregations into a bright future.
