Silent Auction is live online! Tickets deadline this Friday, Nov. 1

Sure, you can still buy tickets at uuss.org/auction (only $25 per person!) before Friday, Nov. 1, for our great Flamingle Event with live auction, raffle baskets, delicious appetizers, wine and beer, photo booth and more, taking place at UUSS Saturday, Nov. 9, from 4 to 6 pm.
And we are still seeking donations of wine for this event—bring it to the Auction Table on Sunday or drop it by the Office (weekdays 9 to 5).
BUT you can also support UUSS and have fun bidding (and winning!) whether you attend the Live Auction event or not! We have over 100 silent auction items you can bid on until Sunday, Nov. 10 at 8pm. To bid, you must register online with a credit card.
We recommend you read through the Bidding Info page to brush up your bidding skills. Then start browsing the Silent Auction Catalog!
- Make a plan before you begin: be sure to stop by our direct donation items, which are listed last (but never least) in the catalog. Go to the Fund-a-Need gifts and Flock Fund Donations at the end of the catalog to support specific one-time and ongoing programs at UUSS.
- If you find and click the calendar view button, you can see month-by-month all the items that have dates, so you won’t double book yourself.
- Starting on page 1 of the catalog, the first items you will see are Fixed Price “Buy-it-Now” items that are lower cost options. No one will outbid you, and some items are as low as $10. Rev. Roger has an item offered here as well. Many of these items sell out quickly, so don’t delay!
- Next we have a few items in The Great Outdoors category– did you know you can search by category? Hikes, strolls, golf, birding, photography, sailing, and even a bat tour! Enjoy nature with UUs!
- Let Us Entertain You is our most popular category because it includes all those wonderful dinner parties, lunches, brunches and even a football gathering this year! We have 19 items for you to check out, including: #313: Local Harvest Dinner with Jorge and Ron on SATURDAY, JUNE 7, 2025 from 4 pm to 7:30 pm
- If you prefer smaller groups or one-on-one and enjoy other entertainment besides just eating, check out On the Town (though most of these items involve eating also)! From great restaurants to Broadway musicals to Crocker art tours to wine tasting, this category has it all!
- Go to At Your Service to find helpful UUs ready to deliver baked goodies or homegrown fruit, organize your space, do all your handyperson chores, play live piano music, and so much more!
- Our newest category is Learn, Grow and Have Fun! Here you will find classes and experiences in making all sorts of arts, crafts, and food items. You can learn not just how to make pickles but how to play pickleball!
- Vacation Adventures offers you great getaways and includes the ever-popular Cabin among the Big Trees in Arnold and Summer Condo stay in Colorado. We have some new offerings this year, including the 5-Night Bodega Bay Escape offered in the Live Auction only—check it out by clicking the Live Auction Preview tab.
- Another new item, available online only, is: #702: San Francisco 2-night stay in an elegant one-bedroom suite with private living room and kitchen in the Nob Hill section of the City by the Bay.
- Event Tickets for You offers seats at a handful of concerts in our region, including by the Sacramento Philharmonic.
Last but not least, you get a chance to donate to UUSS:
- Fund-a-Need this year raises funds for much-needed kitchen improvements, including:
- a new energy-efficient range with a broiler
- a new fridge and a new freezer (before the old ones konk out!)
Funds needed for the kitchen upgrade project are about $15,000. You can donate online for this big project anytime or raise your paddle for it at the Live Auction. Or donate twice!
Additionally, you can support our “Flock Fund” donation items:
– Religious Education Supplies and Materials, including Our Whole Lives sexuality education
– Guest Musician Stipends for Sunday services
– Coffee Hour Supplies (sponsor a Sunday!)
– Zoom Subscriptions for online access and outreach
– Printing costs for the weekly Order of Service and Blue Sheet
– Safety and Security Items (e.g. security cameras, fire extinguishers, alarm system)

Remember: Bid early, bid often, and bid high!
With deep thanks from your Fall Flamingle Flock (auction committee)!
