You’ve probably noticed this regular feature of UUSS communications: “Where are Reverend Roger and Reverend Lucy this month?” If you ask me about where I’ll be, my usual answer is “making music with the choir and with you,” but every July our church sends me to the national conference of the (newly re-named) Association of Unitarian Universalist Music Ministers (AUMM). This year’s gathering of UU conductors, pianists, composers, and renowned guest clinicians and speakers will be at the Universalist Church of Denver, Colorado. Like us, they have had a recent major remodel and expansion of their home, which now includes a fully accessible and green campus; their domed Main Hall, large welcome hall, kitchen, and grounds look very much like ours! So I am excited to be going to a place that feels like home, with the added bonus of studying and singing and reconnecting with over 200 talented UU musicians from all over the USA. I will share what I’ve learned with you when I return. Listen for (and sing!) some marvelous new music this fall!
