Welcome to Keith Atwater! He brings 12 years of experience as a music director and choral conductor in 3 congregations. He has led choirs, string quartets, hand bell choirs and jazz ensembles. He’s organized children’s pageants and choral outreach activities in local communities. Earlier he was a high school band teacher and the founder of a high school choir. His talents include coaching instrumentalists, and he plays trombone, bass guitar, string bass and piano. He teaches and is department chair of religious studies and humanities at American River College. He taught at Sacramento State and was a protégé of the late Dr. Betty Ch’maj, a beloved UUSS member. See more in the July Unigram newsletter. Keith will be at the Tuesday music and meditation services with Rev. Roger on June 30 & July 7. Choir rehearsals begin Aug. 12, with a potluck party a week earlier.
