15 Useful UUs Clean Up The Parkway!

The threat of rain was idle this morning as fifteen useful UUs removed more than a few bulging bags of garbage on the UU mile of the Parkway today. Shown below (from left) are only ten of our crew: Jeff Voeller, Lloyd Crockford, Doug Osborn, Alfie Adams (Doug’s friend), Roger Olson, Patti Nogales, Chris Kronser, Lorri Reynard, Susan Mazrolle, and Eric Ross. Not shown are Dierdre Downes, David Paul and Bill Hardy, who zipped off to appointments, Marti Menz who arrived and departed as a runner on the trail, and I (lurking behind the camera). The trash pickings were a bit slim because extended rainy weather has kept recreational use of the Parkway at a minimum and high water levels prevented access to some areas. Sadly, many active camps are located on our mile, with occupants surviving under very difficult conditions. After the work was done, the coffee was hot and the conversation lively and fun!
Many thanks to our crew were heard from runners, walkers and bikers today- And I add my own, here: Great work, folks! Thank you!
