Looks like Easter has come to the Parkway!  Rabbits like these have been part of the Easter tradition since the late 1600s in Germany.  Long before that time, Pagans celebrated hares in the spring season as symbols of fertility, life, death and rebirth, often associated with the Germanic goddess “Eostre”.   An interesting article from “The Guardian” discussing the Pagan roots of Easter can be found at:  https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/belief/2010/apr/03/easter-pagan-symbolism; and another about the goddess Eostre at: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ēostre

The white rabbits in the photograph are unlikely residents along the river, probably released from domestic quarters.  With their lack of camouflage, they would be well to practice social distancing from coyotes, eagles, hawks, owls and other natural predators eager for Easter dinner.

Here’s hoping that the rabbits and you keep hopping along, successfully avoiding adversity, and that you find joy in the Easter tradition that means the most to you.
