Finding Light On The Parkway, Monday, April 13, 2020

Hi, Folks,
A walk at riverside or in boggy areas on the Parkway right now might bring you to a stand of yellow-flag iris in full bloom. Yellow-flag iris was imported to the United States in the 1700s as an ornamental plant and, to the casual observer, it’s a beautiful sight to see. But, as a prolific native to Europe, western Asia and northwest Africa, this plant is classified as an invasive species on the Parkway, and there are downsides to its presence. You may learn more about that at: https://blogs.cdfa.ca.gov/Section3162/?p=3591.
But for this moment, let’s just take in the beauty.
Wishing you light in your life today,
Dave
