Finding Light On The Parkway, Monday, May 18, 2020

Hi, Folks,
Here’s an endearing little Western Screech Owl. It’s only about the size of a robin- not more than 10 inches tall, a little over a half pound in weight at most, and marvelously camouflaged to blend with its lodging. This owl had taken up residence in a huge dead oak tree not far from the Effie Yeaw Nature Center offices. The owl often sat at the entrance to its roost hole, high above groups of fascinated children looking up at it. The tree has since fallen, and I hope the owl, despite the changes in its world, is settled again, older and even wiser than before.
I hope you find joy in this day in our ever-changing world!
Dave
