Finding Light On The Parkway, Saturday, April 11, 2020

Hi, Folks,

When I met with this Great Horned Owl, he only had one urgent question: “How long is this !@#$%^&*(“? quarantine gonna last???”  He was both grouchy and forlorn when I replied, “Maybe into June here on the Parkway.”  I said it was understandable that he felt that way and that maybe he’d feel better if he called a friend.  He thought a moment, but all the sad little guy could say was, “Who?  Who?”.  So I stayed and talked with him for a while and I think he felt better when I left.

So, yeah; it looks like it’s going to be a while.  Here’s an informative article estimating the peaks and the ends of the epidemic in various states.

I guess we’ll need to get used to it, stay resolved to be smart about limiting exposure, and hopefully find some light moments in each day.  One of our frequent Parkway cleanup volunteers, Rayma Forrest, has suggested an enjoyable opportunity.  Andrew Lloyd Webber is now making his musicals available to be streamed free of charge on YouTube every Friday morning at 1l:00 am PST and for 48 hours afterward.  Check it out at: https://www.timeout.com/news/andrew-lloyd-webbers-biggest-musicals-are-streaming-free-on-youtube-for-a-limited-time-040920 .  Thanks for the tip, Rayma!

Wishing some lightness in your life, and maybe sharing it safely with a friend today,

Dave
