Finding Light On The Parkway, Thursday, 3/26/20

Hi, Folks,
The rising sun casts a luminous glow on this Great Egret at daybreak. In the late 1800s, the survival of the species was threatened as this elegant bird was hunted nearly to extinction in order to provide plumes for hats. Now, serving as the symbol of the National Audubon Society which was founded to protect such birds, Great Egrets are no longer a threatened species. Much more about this beautiful bird can be found at: https://www.allaboutbirds.org/guide/Great_Egret
Here’s hoping that the flight of your day today is as light and beautiful as this egret!
