Finding Light On The Parkway, Tuesday, April 28, 2020

Hi, Folks,
For a little lightness, here’s an exchange I recently heard between a long billed curlew and a killdeer on the Parkway…
The Curlew and the Killdeer
A curlew and a killdeer shared a mudflat one fine day.
The curlew bragged, “My beak is long!”
but the killdeer looked away.
“I dig down deep for juicy shrimp and worms and crabs and things;
While you just skim the surface
for what the current brings.”
The killdeer didn’t heed the boasting curlew with his beak,
as he savored fat mosquitos
and headed up the creek.
But then the killdeer stopped to think, “That curlew’s insecure!
He’s boasting of his beak because
he’s filled with social fear!”
The killdeer turned and headed back to comfort a new friend
by agreeing with him fully that
his beak was his best end!
Hoping you have some fun today!
Dave
